Welcome to Lake Michigan’s Left Coast
lakemichigansleftcoast.com is the official website of artist, photographer, and writer Elizabeth G Fagan
The unique beauty of Lake Michigan’s southwestern shoreline inspires digital artist Elizabeth G Fagan. Her process begins with her own photography. She captures fields and farms, flora and fauna, Lake Michigan, seasonal masterpieces. One day, she might focus on a quality of light; on another, colors or patterns in nature.
Fagan uses digital tools to minimize visual noise and emphasize a subject’s distinctive characteristics. Influences include Arts & Crafts and Mid-Century palettes and designs. Because her work is digital, Fagan can print it in a variety of media: prints, canvases, wood panels, greeting cards, and more.
Fagan’s interest in photography began at a private arts high school on Connecticut’s Long Island Sound. With degrees in English, Linguistics, and Web Development, Fagan describes her 30-year professional history as “eclectic.” Fagan now devotes more time to doing what she loves: enjoying nature, taking photographs, writing, and creating art.
A former Chicagoan, Elizabeth G Fagan is an artist, photographer, and writer who resides in southeastern Wisconsin. She calls her place in the world Lake Michigan’s Left Coast.
Fagan attended The Hammonasset School, a private arts high school in Connecticut, where she began writing and taking photographs. She earned a BA in English at Grinnell College (Grinnell, Iowa) and the University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC). She has an MA in Linguistics with a specialization in teaching English as a second language (ESL) from UIC. Fagan later gained an associate degree in Web Development from DePaul University in Chicago.
