Geese, Lake Michigan, 12″x12″

“Portraying a Great Lake in a single image is a challenge. If you point and shoot, you might get a horizontal line—the point at which air meets water,” says artist Elizabeth G Fagan. “But in person, a Great Lake is a massive wilderness that’s different every day. I took the photo behind this art in October, 2016. By January, 2019, the tree had almost fallen into Lake Michigan’s rising water. “

Elizabeth G Fagan is an artist and writer who resides in southeastern Wisconsin—a place she calls Lake Michigan’s Left Coast. Her art begins with her own photography. Then she alters her photos digitally to create images that can be printed in a variety of media: unframed prints or canvases; custom-framed prints or canvases; 5″×7″ or 8″×10″ wood panels; pillows, throws, calendars, greeting cards, coffee mugs, and more. Artwork dimensions are given in inches.
