“My Mother” Poem with Heritage Rose, 5×7
Friends and memories come and go
Upon life’s restless sea
But one I know will changeless be
My Mother, heaven’s gift to me
My Grandmother and Mother imbued me with a love of gardening. Here’s a Heritage Rose from a long-ago garden that was especially fragrant and lovely. The poem “My Mother” comes from a 1930s-era painting I found in an antique shop and gave to my Mother one Mother’s Day. I hung the painting with favorite photos of Mom, who passed away a few years ago.
