Digital artist Elizabeth G Fagan is inspired by the majestic natural beauty and picturesque rural charm of Lake Michigan’s coast in southeastern Wisconsin. Look at any map of the USA, and you’ll see why Fagan nicknamed the place Lake Michigan’s Left Coast.
With her original art, Fagan hopes to capture essential images of the region as they might appear in fond memories. She begins by taking digital photographs. Then she alters her photographs to enhance their most compelling characteristics.
Fagan is passionate about the natural world and its creatures. Formerly a professional writer, she occasionally writes a few words about things that matter to her. In 2015–16, Fagan wrote the monthly column “Green Talk” for the Ozaukee County News Graphic on behalf of Mequon Nature Preserve. Fagan was a professional writer for many years, including a decade during which she operated her own business. She was often the photographer for her “Green Talk” columns.
